Théo Lavanchy studied law at the University of Lausanne, focusing on commercial law, contract law, banking law, financial market law, corporate law and economic criminal law. He obtained his Master’s degree with magna cum laude in 2016, with a specialization in litigation law.

Besides his studies, Théo Lavanchy worked as a clerk at the Lausanne Labor law Court , as well as at the Justice de paix du Jura-Nord vaudois et du Gros-de-Vaud, in the field of debt collection and bankruptcy law.

After his Master’s graduation, Théo Lavanchy worked successively in the legal department of one of the leading media company in Switzerland and in an international organization active in the field of nature and biodiversity conservation. Théo Lavanchy also carried out an internship in a law firm in United States of America (Orlando, Florida) specialized in medical malpractice.

Working primarily with institutional and private clients active in these cutting-edge fields and more generally in the industry, Théo Lavanchy provides comprehensive advice to companies, supporting them from their creation and throughout their activities.

In this context, Théo Lavanchy is mainly active in corporate law (e.g. the creation of commercial companies, associations, and foundations, financing rounds, M&A, corporate governance, etc.), contract law (e.g. shareholder agreements, stock option plans, employment agreements, consulting agreements, license agreements, terms of investment, as well as technical contracts, particularly in the field of cryptocurrencies and DLT technology), financial markets law (e.g. regulatory assessments and coordination with FINMA, affiliations with SROs, advice on crypto projects, etc.), data protection law (e.g. privacy notices, data transfer agreements, etc.), intellectual property law, media law, labor law, and real estate law.
